Help Us... Help Others October 1 - 31, 2012

The Latt Maxcy Memorial Library will conduct "Food for Fines" during the month of October. "Food for Fines" is a fines amnesty program, which provides patrons the opportunity to "pay" overdue fines with a donation of food to the Library. Non-perishable food collected in this drive will go to the Frostproof Care Center’s Food Pantry Program.

Overdue materials may be returned with at least five non-perishable food items, or outstanding fines owed may be "paid" with the same donation.

The library will accept materials, no matter how long overdue. Overdue materials from any Polk County Library Cooperative site may be returned during "Food for Fines." Lost or damaged materials are exempt from this amnesty program.

Bring your long overdue books and your donated non-perishable food items to the library today and clear your library card. This is a great way to help others in need. For more info. on participating in this program call the library, 863-635-7857.

Some great information about B-Mail!

B-Mail is a home delivery service available to all library customers who reside within Polk County. Books and materials are mailed to customers whose library membership is in good standing. Some restrictions may apply.
B-Mail is a low cost, easy way to receive PCLC materials. In fact, B-Mail delivery to your home is free! When the title you've requested is located, it will be delivered to the address listed on your library account.
Special consideration is given to shut-ins. Mail to and from their residence is free through a special postal permit.
The return of books and materials is the responsibility of the customer. B-Mail materials must be returned to one of the 18 Polk County Library Cooperative sites, including PCLC's Bookmobile. Materials may be returned during regular library business hours or in the after-hours drop boxes available at most sites.
For information visit www.pclc.lib.fl.us/bbm or call 863-679-4441. B-Mail is a unique new service, funded by Polk County Libary Community Investment Dollars, with support from Polk County Library Cooperative member libraries.
